The Monaghan family have run The Royal Oak Hotel since 1978. This 18th Century rural hostelry is at the heart of the village. Original features include the beamed ceilings and welcoming log fires, which add to the charm and character of this traditional country inn.

The Royal Oak Hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation in Great Ayton, a charming market town and an ideal base for exploring Middlesbrough, Stokesley and the East Coast. There are 5 comfortable and well furnished rooms, providing accommodation for 1-9 people.

The restaurant has an excellent a la carte menu with plenty of choice and bar meals are served throughout the day.

The lively, welcoming bar has a great atmosphere and is popular with visitors and locals alike. There’s a good variety of ales on tap, including popular offerings from the Theakston brewery, along with keg ales, lager, cider and a great selection of wines and spirits.
