Description:

Trains run daily from mid March to early November and then in weekends through December. Enjoy 18 miles of scenic bliss as you journey through the North York Moors National Park. The NYMR links Pickering, Levisham, Newtondale Halt, Goathland and Grosmont. Many services now also run to and from Whitby on the coast.

A family friendly railway with period stations, shops, tearooms, car parking and toilets. Dogs welcome. Our trains cater for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Special events held through the year. Artist in Residence at Levisham Station. Engine sheds where locomotives are restored and prepared for steam at Grosmont. Visit Goathland, otherwise known as "Aidensfield" in the TV series Heartbeat and otherwise known as Hogsmeade in the first Harry Potter film. An all-weather attraction. Recreating history every day.

Many of our visitors return time and time again to enjoy the nearby walks or cycle rides and to spend time at each of our stations or to spend a day in Whitby or Pickering.

We also provide luxury dining trains complete with Pullman coaches, footplate experience days, period saloon coaches available for private or corporate functions, and we can provide self-catering accommodation at either Grosmont Station Cottage or in one of our two Camping Coaches.
