Description:
Mount Grace Priory is the best-preserved of the ten British 'charterhouses', whose Carthusian monks lived as hermits in cottage-like cells. A reconstructed and furnished monk's cell and a recently revamped herb plot offer a glimpse into the lives of the medieval residents. The gardens are a haven for wildlife, including the famous 'Priory Stoats'.
The site hosts arts exhibitions throughout the year, most recently a display of beautiful landscape images by renowned photographer, Joe Cornish. During the summer, Mount Grace Prory plays host to a season of outdoor theatre, from Peter Pan to A Midsummer Night’s Dream. For more details of events, please see our website.
