Places to Visit in North Yorkshire

At the award-winning World of James Herriot Museum in Thirsk you can investigate the life and times of the renowned vet and author who unveiled this area to millions. There are also loads of fun activities for children. At farm parks, like Monk Park Farm Visitor Centre, you can get hands on with the animals yourself, feeding, cleaning and petting. It’s a great day out for the whole family.

Herriot Country is famous for traditional woodcarvers and furniture makers like Robert Thompson's Craftsmen ('The Mouseman of Kilburn'), where you can pick up fine, handcrafted mementos of your trip that you’ll treasure forever. You’ll also find a wealth of those small, individual shops that seem to have disappeared from the majority of high streets.
